About LXCast

Head of PenguinWhere do we come from? Where are we going?

And why are we giving so much of our data to Google, Facebook and all the others?

Why do we use proprietary software that doesn’t respect our privacy?

To give some answers to these questions, I’m doing

            • the LXCast blog on Open Source tools and getting hardware to work under Linux;

      • the LXCast podcast with the aim to understand technology and the world around us by talking to the wise, the activists, and the visionaries.

About 20 years ago, in the early 2000s, I installed an Operating System called Linux (for some, GNU/Linux is more accurate) on my computer, and the tech world would never be the same for me. All of a sudden, I discovered a world where people shared their knowledge, and built software that was open and free (free as in beer, but also free as in Freedom), instead of commercial and fencing you in in their own commercial system. This has allowed me to discover and learn so many things about computers, technology, free speech and privacy.

This is something I want to share with you on LXCast. The name comes from Linux, obviously, but the content goes beyond.

Keep it Open Source, keep an open mind, and don‘t give them your data!
